I'm restarting my work on this series with my friend Kathleen. This portrait was inspired by this image. I didn't really get the perspective issues right, but I still think it turned out pretty well. Obviously I've changed the color pallet some.
I spent about three evenings on this portrait. it went much faster than I expected. I know there are still a lot of issues in it, but I think I'm getting back into drawing (and water color pencils) far better than I expected. The image was first sketched on watercolor paper, then inked with Micron pens, and finally colored with watercolor pencils and blended with a water-based blending tool.
